Lesson: 6 - Transferring files, file format converting from one format to another format.

Purpose: Students learn how to transfer files from mobile to laptop etc. Converting files like images, documents, audio & video from one format to another format.

1 - (Time : 1:30 minutes, 10 laptops/desktops, Students strength : 15 to 20).

Materials Required

Laptop/Desktop, Internet connection, Mobile, USB cable, Pen drive & External Hard Disk. And also need Format factory, Movavi, vlc, VSDC Free Audio Converter or any other converter.

Prior knowledge

Students should know about Wi-Fi connection, USB port and cable, Pen drive & Hard Disk.

1. Students should know to how transfer the files between devices

  a) Students learn to transfer an image from a mobile to a laptop/desktop and vice versa using USB file transfer.

  b) Students learn to transfer laptop files to Google photos using Wi-Fi.

  c) Students learn about a few transfer apps.

2. Students should know to convert from a particular file extension to someother file extension.(For eg. convert a jpg file entension to png extension.)

Teacher's Instruction
  1. Students should know the different conversion of file formats like jpg to png or mp3 to wav or mp4 to wmv.
  2. Ask them how to share the files through bluetooth or nearby share.
  3. Ask them when they convert a gif file into a jpg file, will the file size be increased or not?
  4. Ask them when they change the default app of a jpg image into an odt and open that particular odt file, what will happen.
